• Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate ……………………… 200mg (as base)
• Procaine Hydrochloride ……………………………… 20mg

Feature and Benefits

1. PENSTREP L/A injection is a combination of Benzylpenicillin (Procaine Penicillin G and Benzathine Penicillin G) and Dihydrostreptomycin. Procaine Penicillin G and Benzathine Penicillin G have high sensitivity mostly against Gram-positive bacteria. Dihydrostreptomycin, an antibiotics from the aminoglycosides group, has a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria. The combination of Penicillin and Dihydrostreptomycin has a broader antibacterial spectrum. Therefore, it can be administered preferentially before the results of bacteriological inspection are obtained.

2. Benzathine Penicillin G and Procaine Penicillin G has low solubility, that is, is very slowly absorbed. So blood concentration can be maintained for a long time and therapeutical blood concentration is continued for 2～3 days with just one injection. The preparation also has a merit of being relatively more stable than other aqueous injectable suspensions.

Indications:

For treatment of diseases caused by bacteria susceptible to penicillin and streptomycin

Precaution(s) and others:

• Treat in accordance with the direction of veterinarian.
• Discontinue use for 30days before slaughter.
• Do not use in lactating dairy cows.
• Do not use to animals having hypersensitivity to Penicillin.
• Do not use it over 7days consecutively.
• Store in an airtight container.

Dosage and Use:

Inject intramuscularly as follows per 10kg of body weight once a day at intervals of 2~3days
